On June 5th, communities across the globe united under the international theme “Inspired by Nature, For Climate, For Our Future.” In Buea, we brought this theme to life through a vibrant day of fitness, awareness, and environmental action.

Starting Strong: Fitness for the Planet

The day began at Bongo Square, where our sports coordinator led participants in a 30‑minute sporting exercise. This energizing start reminded us that caring for our health and caring for the planet go hand in hand.

Walking Green: A Journey of Awareness

From Bongo Square, participants embarked on a 30‑minute Green Walk, weaving through Turborg Junction, past the General Hospital Junction, and onward to the Public Works School. Each step symbolized our collective journey toward climate responsibility and sustainable living.

Planting Hope: Trees for Tomorrow

After cooling‑down exercises, delegates, government representatives, CSOs, NPOs, NGOs, and students joined hands to plant trees. These trees stand as living symbols of resilience, hope, and our shared commitment to safeguarding the environment for generations to come.

Fellowship and Reflection

The day concluded with light refreshments and warm fellowship, ending at 10:30 am. Though the event closed, the spirit of environmental stewardship continues—reminding us that every day is an opportunity to act for the climate.
