Training Workshop

Ever heard of the phrase “Learning never ends?” At CEDAR-COM, we believe that continuous learning and skill enhancement are vital for our growth and effectiveness as an NGO. Upon the recommendation of the Programs manager of CEDAR-COM, Fon Honore, four dedicated staff members from our organization had the opportunity to attend a transformative three-day grant writing training workshop organized by TARUND Institute in Buea. This training was not just a chance to learn; it was an investment in our capacity to secure funding and support for our projects.

Understanding the intricacies of grant writing is essential for any NGO, especially one like CEDAR-COM that actively seeks funding to implement impactful projects. By selecting staff members from diverse fields those who are not traditionally involved in project-based roles. We aimed to broaden our team’s expertise and enhance our collaborative efforts. This strategic decision aligns with our commitment to fostering a well-rounded team capable of tackling various challenges in our mission.

 

The workshop was led by four experienced facilitators, two of whom were co-opted from CEDAR-COM; Tanjong Rudolf (NGO Consultant), Rene Lamnyam (Project expert, Grant Writing Consultant at CEDAR-COM), Mbiydzenyny Ferdinant (Public Health Expert) and Fon Honore (Project Consultant, Grant Writing Expert at CEDAR-COM)  who are seasoned grant writers, covered a comprehensive range of topics essential for successful grant applications including; Grant and Donor Search to enable participants identity potential funding sources, Proposal Outline, Writing Preliminary Proposals to help crafting compelling initial proposals and writing technical proposals

As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of nonprofit work, enhancing our skills in grant writing is more important than ever. The knowledge gained from this workshop will enable our team to contribute more effectively to grant writing processes, ensuring that we can secure the necessary resources to support our initiatives. Moreover, it fosters a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility within our organization, as each team member becomes more involved in the grant writing journey. “The three days training was rich, timely and impactful.
