OXYGEN RESPIRATORY SUPPORT FOR EMERGENCY AND INTENSIVE HEALTH CARE

Emergency health care and intensive Healthcare most often, thrives on the availability of trapped, purified and bottles oxygen for effective treatment outcomes and reduction of death rates.

Unfortunately, in lower medium African countries South of the Sahara, by 2020, there were only about 0.14 oxygen ventilators per 100,000 persons, especially at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

CEDAR-COM, after successfully contributing in the mobilization of resources for the establishment and sustainable running of an Oxygen Plant by PCC in Limbe, is partnering to ensure a successful roll – out of the project.

It is hoped that, thanks to the dynamic leadership of the PCC Moderatot and his team, this unit provide oxygen cylinders for hundreds of health Facilities in Cameroon and the CEMAC Region at a more available and affordable rate.

It should be noted that the few available intensive care units mostly serve urban populations and are hard to reach for rural communities.

CEDAR-COM is increasingly promoting sustainable health care ventures and investments through effective resource mobilization, planning, management and monitoring.

This project entails the ongoing construction of a factory and warehouse, as well as recruitment, training, equipment and management of staff to ensure sustainable production and provision of the life – saving oxygen cylinders.

KEEP IN SCHOOL (KIS) PROJECT

In March 2024, as part of its initiatives for vulnerable displaced and at – risk populations, CEDAR-COM partnered with PCC to engage communities for the implementation of a project to keep 20 most vulnerable IDP children in school per each of 4 selected schools. …Schools selected include GS Bwassa, PS Tole, PS Buea Station and PS Buea Town….the project provided them with School Fees, Books exam registration support and birth certification ( in partnership with Buea Council). …More than 80 kids benefited from this support. According to one of them, a 5 – year old in the embattled Tole village “I am happy that I can now go to school as a blessed child”…This project will be scaled and reinforced into an annual program that will run annual needs assessments in relative communities and provide key relevant support for kids in or nearing exam classes to reduce drop – out rates.

PRESMFI BUSINESS MEETING FACILITATED BY CEDAR-COM

Thanks to Funding by PresMicrofinance, CEDAR-COM Facilitated a training of PCC and other social ventures for investment-oriented approaches to running hospitals, schools, social centers and income-generatinh units by nonprofits………………………….. This training stirred a paradigm shift for many facility leaders and managers who are now more empowered to ensure economic growth, sustainability and scaling of their facilities and services while maintaining moderate service rates for equitable health provision, education, empowerment and support to communities through their centers. ………………………………….CEDAR-COM seeks as one of its initiatives, to promote sustainability and reduce extreme donor-dependence for essential care and development.
