In March 2024, as part of its initiatives for vulnerable displaced and at – risk populations, CEDAR-COM partnered with PCC to engage communities for the implementation of a project to keep 20 most vulnerable IDP children in school per each of 4 selected schools. …Schools selected include GS Bwassa, PS Tole, PS Buea Station and PS Buea Town….the project provided them with School Fees, Books exam registration support and birth certification ( in partnership with Buea Council). …More than 80 kids benefited from this support. According to one of them, a 5 – year old in the embattled Tole village “I am happy that I can now go to school as a blessed child”…This project will be scaled and reinforced into an annual program that will run annual needs assessments in relative communities and provide key relevant support for kids in or nearing exam classes to reduce drop – out rates.
