PRESAIR
Health is a cornerstone of CEDAR-COM’s mission and strategic objectives. As the technical support partner for the PCC PRESAIR (Oxygen Plant), CEDAR-COM strives to ensure that the PCC PRESAIR (Oxygen Plant) is committed to enhancing healthcare delivery in the South West Region of Cameroon. The primary goal of the oxygen plant is to establish a robust production and operational framework for medical oxygen, thereby improving accessibility and affordability for healthcare facilities.
OVERVIEW OF PRESAIR
The PRESAIR (Oxygen Plant) has made significant strides in its operations since inception. By focusing on local production and distribution, this initiative has greatly improved respiratory support for patients requiring chronic care. The availability of medical oxygen has become crucial in ensuring that healthcare providers can deliver timely and effective interventions, particularly in emergency situations.
One of the innovative features of the PRESAIR Oxygen Plant is its ability to provide a reliable oxygen supply that does not depend on electricity for its usage. This feature helps in mitigating risks to patient health particularly in regions where power interruptions are frequent, ensuring that patients continue to receive necessary respiratory support without delay.
COMMUNITY IMPACT
Barely few months after its creation, the plant has commenced the production and distribution of Oxygen, benefiting health facilities in the south west region of Cameroon at the moment. The impact of the PRESAIR (Oxygen Plant) extends beyond healthcare and strengthening the local economy; it plays a pivotal role creating job opportunities.
As a community-based organization, CEDAR-COM has been instrumental in mobilizing resources and providing technical support for capacity building and staff training at the PCC PRESAIR. CEDAR’S efforts have centered around developing strategic initiatives to enhance healthcare services within the community. By collaborating with health institutions and personnel, CEDAR ensure that community members receive high-quality care at minimal costs.
The PRESAIR (Oxygen Plant) initiative represents a significant advancement in healthcare delivery in Cameroon. Through these ongoing commitments, the Community Empowerment, Development and Rehabilitation Commission (CEDAR-COM) through this project continues to play a vital role in ensuring that essential health services are accessible and affordable for all. The positive outcomes of this project highlights CEDAR-COM’s dedication to improving health and well-being within the communities it serves.
